The Al Shorouk is a classic technical wreck dive — a sizeable vessel that came to rest on its starboard side between two reefs, offering an atmospheric, structured dive for experienced and technically trained divers.
The story of Al Shorouk Wreck
Scuttled in 2008, the Al Shorouk was added as Aqaba's reputation for wreck diving grew. Lying on her side between reef walls, she creates a dramatic underwater landscape where ship and natural reef meet, and the surrounding topography channels marine life onto and around the wreck.
Marine life & what you'll see
Soft corals and sponges have spread across the exposed flank, and the holds and superstructure shelter glassfish, lionfish and lobster. The position between two reefs means you often combine wreck and reef life in a single dive, with reef fish and the occasional ray over the sand between the structures.
Diving Al Shorouk Wreck
The Al Shorouk sits deep and on its side, so it is best suited to technically certified divers or very experienced deep divers diving with a guide and proper planning. The reward is a quiet, photogenic wreck with the bonus of two reefs on either side.

Aqaba offers some of the calmest, most accessible diving in the Red Sea, and Al Shorouk Wreck is no exception. Water temperatures stay comfortable year-round, from about 21°C in winter to 27°C in summer, and visibility commonly runs 15–40 metres. Al Shorouk Wreck is a boat dive, so it can be enjoyed across most of the year; the calm gulf rarely sees big swell, and we dive it in small guided groups with all equipment available.
