The story of Lockheed L-1011 TriStar
Prepared and scuttled as a dedicated dive attraction, the TriStar was lowered intact so that divers can swim the length of the fuselage, explore the cabin and float over the enormous wings. Its size dwarfs most wrecks: the tail alone rises like a building from the seabed, giving an unforgettable sense of scale.
Marine life & what you'll see
As one of the newer additions, the TriStar is in the early, fascinating stages of becoming a reef. Algae and the first corals are establishing on the wings and tail, baitfish gather in the shade of the fuselage, and predators such as jacks have begun to patrol the structure at dawn and dusk.

Water temperatures stay comfortable year-round, from about 21°C in winter to 27°C in summer, and visibility commonly runs 15–40 metres. Lockheed L-1011 TriStar is a boat dive, so it can be enjoyed across most of the year; the calm gulf rarely sees big swell, and we dive it in small guided groups with all equipment available.
