Power Station is Aqaba's classic wall dive and a long-time favourite of experienced divers. A coral-covered slope tumbles from the shallows down past 40 metres, usually dived as a relaxed drift that lets the gentle current carry you along a seemingly endless reef.
The story of Power Station
Named for the nearby shore landmark, Power Station has been a benchmark Aqaba dive for decades. Its profile — a continuous slope rather than a vertical wall — makes for a forgiving but genuinely deep dive, which is why it is so often chosen to introduce divers to drift and deeper diving.
Marine life & what you'll see
The slope is carpeted in hard and soft corals and dotted with coral pinnacles, each a hub of activity. Anthias and fusiliers stream over the reef, groupers and snapper hold station on the pinnacles, and the deeper blue brings the chance of larger pelagics, turtles and reef sharks cruising the edge.
Diving Power Station
Running from about 5 down to 50 metres, Power Station is best for Advanced divers comfortable with depth and drift, though the shallow reef top can be enjoyed by all levels. It is a boat dive, planned to drift north to south, and rewards good buoyancy and air management.

Diving conditions & best time
Aqaba offers some of the calmest, most accessible diving in the Red Sea, and Power Station is no exception. Water temperatures stay comfortable year-round, from about 21°C in winter to 27°C in summer, and visibility commonly runs 15–40 metres. Power Station is a boat dive, so it can be enjoyed across most of the year; the calm gulf rarely sees big swell, and we dive it in small guided groups with all equipment available.

Because of its depth, Power Station is best for Advanced Open Water divers with good buoyancy. If you are working towards that, our instructors can take you through the Advanced course first.
