The story of Taiyong Wreck
Added to Aqaba's collection of sunken attractions, the Taiyong was placed to create deep-water habitat and to give technical divers a dedicated objective. Because of its depth it has been left largely undisturbed, allowing corals and sponges to flourish across the hull and deck fittings.
Marine life & what you'll see
The extra depth brings a different cast of marine life: larger groupers, schooling snapper, and the occasional pelagic passing in the blue. Encrusting corals and colourful sponges cover much of the wreck, and the low light gives the whole dive a moody, atmospheric feel.
Diving Taiyong Wreck
The Taiyong lies beyond 28 metres and is intended for technically certified or suitably experienced deep divers diving with appropriate gas planning and a guide. For the right diver it is one of Aqaba's most satisfying wrecks — uncrowded, intact and full of life.

Diving conditions & best time
Aqaba offers some of the calmest, most accessible diving in the Red Sea, and Taiyong Wreck is no exception. Water temperatures stay comfortable year-round, from about 21°C in winter to 27°C in summer, and visibility commonly runs 15–40 metres. Taiyong Wreck is a boat dive, so it can be enjoyed across most of the year; the calm gulf rarely sees big swell, and we dive it in small guided groups with all equipment available.
